Here Goes Nothing!

I have been playing around with the idea of doing a blog for a while now, and in a conversation with my wonderful wife the other day, I mentioned that I thought it would be neat to be able to write for an outdoors magazine, such as our state magazine Wildlife in North Carolina. She told me "Why not write a blog?". I thought about it and decided I would give this a try. I don't ever see myself getting paid to write, but I do think it will be fun to put some of my ideas down for others to see. Hopefully this will be an interesting, funny, and possibly even helpful blog to take a look at once in a while. I plan to talk mostly about hunting and fishing, with possibly some fly tying, gardening, and even reloading thrown in. I decided to name this blog NC Outdoor Ramblings because that's where the vast majority of my outdoor experiences take place. The ramblings part comes from me not usually knowing when to stop talking! Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully you will find it worth while to come back!

  1. Welcome to the neighborhood. Blogging's a joy if you approach it selfishly - write what makes you happy, not what you expect others to like. Have FUN with it!

  2. Joseph, I'm adding you to by blog list. I follow several blogs almost every day. Most started from our prayer list at church (small Baptist church where we've been members for 40 yrs) and were originally about children who needed prayer because of a sometimes terminal disease. Then as they grew older I stayed with them and enjoyed seeing their pictues and family activities. A couple blogs are about adoptions of children from other countries. That is interesting as well. I will love reading yours about the outdoors, fishing, gardening and such. It will be good for you to have as a sort of journal of your activities. Keep it up !! Congrats on your's and Trina's recent anniversary. I am still sorry we missed your wedding, we were at the Outer Banks. Just returned from there last wk. Go every year at same tim in June.

    1. Thanks Tish! I hope to have another post up before too long. I've got a lot of ideas for this blog, it's just a matter of getting them typed up.
